Raw Hair by Melanie was started in Sept, 2007. Owner Melanie Nickels has been a stylist and business owner of several corporations since 1997. She has been internationally trained, part of intercoiffure, done photo shoots and worked with broadway groups. Melanie has not only achieved becoming an American Board Certified Haircolorist, but is now an evaluator for the organization as well. She continually takes classes and has been involved with educational teams at different hair shows and conventions. She has most recently gone through certification with Deva Curl and classes with Curlisto and Ouidad to specialize in cutting & styling curly hair. 

 

Melanie opened her Organic salon in Naples, FL after her husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2004. She wanted to offer professional services without the toxic chemicals. As recognized in local magazines and Fox 4 News, she has successfully done just that. Now, her latest venture has been to create her own product line. Raw Hair Organics came out in March, 2009. This is a complete professional line of 100% Natural/Organic, Chemical Free products. Raw Hair and the entire staff at Suzannes Images have been long time participants of Matter of Trust; an organization that makes special mats out of hair scraps to soak up oil spills.

 

Melanie is also a volunteer for the Look Good Feel Better program through the American Cancer Society and donates to several local and international charities.
